backyard + good food & drink + good friends & family = bliss

I am a Toronto gal who enjoys delicious and inspired food – eating it, cooking it, sharing it, learning about it, you name it. But what gives me the most joy is making food for the people I love.

In recent years, my thing has been to give truffles and cookies as Christmas gifts to friends. “These are good enough to sell”, folks enthused. <insert sound of seed being planted in brain>

And so, with lots of support and encouragement, I was persuaded to start selling my goodies.  Last Christmas was my pilot project. It took off – I think I rolled about 600 truffles, and baked an equal amount of cookies. I’d purchased enough butter to make even Julia Child blush.

So here I am, taking the big leap into the unknown, offering my sweet (and soon, savoury) things to perfect strangers.  It’s all rather exciting, a little scary even – but hey, as one friend put it, sometimes it’s the devil you don’t know…
